Voyage Aboard 43’ Tabasco

Sunday, July 10, 2022

There’s a SE wind, about 8 kts. It feels like high 70s, but it’s in the low 80s. We’re at the dock loading cargo in the dingy to go aboard, Tabasco. We bought a Yeti and filled it with lots of drinks!! We have enough food and gear to go non-stop. Our plan is to take her off the mooring at false dawn and head up, towards Cape Cod. Not sure yet, but Peter might take Bessie to stay with friends during our two week adventure.

We heard high winds are headed our way tomorrow night. Bessie is safe at our friends, Dave & Mary King’s home. They own Bessie’s mom and dad and recently adopted another pup. My friendship with Mary prompted our family and friends to adopt 3 more pups because they fell in love with Bessie!! I’m very grateful for them and for their amazing grown kids. Thank you, Mary, Dave and family-you probably saved our lives! We’ll bring you a special surprise.

We will shoot for a mooring at Cuttyhunk Island tomorrow. It’s first come, first serve… Hopefully, once we hit open sea we’ll have fair winds and sail easterly (more than northerly) on a beam-reach with a SW wind at 6-7 knots…
